23rd Annual 161st St 3-Wall Tournament
Seattle--The 23rd. annual 161st St. Three Wall Handball Tournament was held on July 29th. We had 14 teams who played out to 5 places and received engraved mugs denoting their finish position. This is a handicapped tournament, with levels from A1 to D3. Sean Lenning and LeRoy Gmazel, playing as A1’s, defeated Mike Ewing and Dave Hruska, playing as B2’s, to take the 1st place trophy. Sean and LeRoy were undefeated in the tournament. Ewing and Hruska lost a match in the early rounds, but managed to work their way back to the finals. The results were as follows: 1st- Sean Lenning/LeRoy Gmazel , 2nd – Mike Ewing/Dave Hruska, 3rd- Glenn Carden/Bill Maguire, 4th- Larry Lenning/Ernie McGarry , 5th- Bill Burke/Joe Cox.
