2004 Division 2 PSHL Tournament
36 players entered to play in the season ending one day tournament, 12 singles players and 12 doubles teams. Play started at 9 AM with four singles and two doubles matches and the day was finished off at 3:30 PM with the championship matches. A long day, with a lot of great matches played. All players paid a $5.00 dollar entry fee with the PSHL giving back the league fees to offset the tournament costs, thanks Glenn. Sandwich, chips and beer for lunch. Crystal light, pastries, juice and all the water the players could drink was provided. Players got their money's worth, especially the father and son team of Rob and Kevin Price, all five of their matches went to the tie breaker. Thanks to the WAC Club for hosting this tournament and to Keith Prince and Joel Carlson for their help in putting this tournament together. SPRING LEAGUE will be starting in March 2005. Dave Bergsing Singles Players: Tacoma Elks: Erik Frew, Cam and Mario Marsillo. WAC: Howie Clark, Keith Prince and Bruce Prout. Lynnwood: Maxx Bennett, David Heard, Dave Hruksa, Dan O'Brien, SR. and Bruce Reynolds. Championship Bracket: 2 games to 15 with 11 point tie breaker. First Round: Keith Prince defeats Dave Heard, Bruce Reynolds defeats Dave Sage, Cam Marsillo defeats Dave Hruska, Erik Frew defeats Maxx Bennett. Second Round: Mario Marsillo defeats Keith Prince, Bruce Prout defeats Bruce Reynolds, Dan O'Brien defeats Cam Marsillo, Howie Clark defeats Erik Frew. Third Round: Bruce Prout defeats Mario Marsillo in a tie breaker, Dan O'Brien defeats Howie Clark. Championship: Dan O'Brien defeats Bruce Prout 13, 14. CONSOLATIONS Bracket: 2 games to 11 with a 7 point tie breaker. First Round: Keith defeats Dave Hruska, Bruce Reynolds defeats Maxx, Dave Hard defeats Cam and Dave Sage moves on with a forfeit from Erik (bruised hand). Second Round: Bruce defeats Keith and Cam defeats Dave Sage. Championship: Bruce Reynolds defeats Cam Marsillo. CONSOLATIONS-CONSOLATIONS Bracket: 2 games to 11 with a 7 point tie breaker. Maxx defeats Dave Hruska, Dave Heard wins from forfeit. Dave Heard defeats Maxx Bennett. Doubles Teams: Tacoma Elks: (Dennis Cruchon / Durk Frew), (Mike Morehart / Dave Kerrone). WAC: (Rich Longstreth / Ernie Kevin), (Al Vinson / Paul Singh), (Marshall Stapp / Dave Hasson), (Jim Merritt / Lou Mancini), (Clay Freeman / George Cobean). Lynnwood: (Mike Bennett / Dan O'Brien, JR.), (Bill Burke / Bill Maguire), (Rich Haldi / Larry Stayner), (Ron Baker / Tom DeYoung), (Rob & Kevin Price). Championship Bracket: 2 games to 15 with 11 point tie breaker. First Round: (Price Duo defeats Longstreth / Kevin), (Stapp / Hasson defeats Morehart / Kerrone), (Burke / Maguire defeats Vinson / Singh), (Bennett / O'Brien defeats Freeman / Cobean). Second Round: (Haldi / Stayner defeats Price Duo), (Merritt / Mancini defeats Stapp / Hasson), (Cruchon / Frew defeats Burke / Maguire). Bennett / O'Brien defeats Baker / DeYoung). Third Round: (Merritt / Mancini defeats Haldi / Stayner), (Bennett / O'Brien defeats Cruchon / Frew). Championship: Bennett / O'Brien defeats Merritt / Mancini in a 11/10 tie breaker. CONSOLATIONS Bracket: 2 games to 11 with a 7 point tie breaker. First Round: ( Price Duo defeats Vinson / Singh), (Freeman / Cobean defeats Stapp / Hasson), (Burke / Maguire defeats Kevin / Joel Carlson subbing for injured Longstreth). Baker / DeYoung defeats Morehart / Kerrone in the hospital match). Second Round: (Price Duo defeats Freeman / Cobean), (Burke / Maguire defeats Baker / DeYoung). Championship: Price Duo defeats Burke / Maguire in a 11/10 tie breaker. CONSOLATIONS-CONSOLATIONS Bracket: 2 games to 11 with a 7 point tie breaker. First Round: Teams of (Morehart / Kerrone) & (Stapp / Hasson) forced to forfeit because of injury or exhaustion. Championships: Kevin / Carlson defeat Vinson / Singh.
